For those of us up North in this wintry coldness, all we can think about is warmth. Hot showers, hot chocolate, hot tubs! Wouldn’t it be nice to watch the snow fall in the heat of your own hot tub? This promotion can sell itself!
One thing I suggest is working with a local pool company versus a big box store. The local pool companies are hurting for business right now and they would most likely be eager to work with you. Plus, like I always preach, you’ll stay local.
Right now, stress from the holidays is starting to wane, thank goodness. However, there may be some residual frustration over lingering arguments. That being said, try the promotion as “Get Out of Hot Water by Getting into Hot Water.”
Have you said or done something that got you in trouble? Did you overly annoy your spouse over the holidays? Get out of the dog house by winning your spouse a hot tub!
This is a fun spin on a giveaway. Rarely do we ask what’s something terrible you’ve done, instead of asking for the sob and pull at the heart strings stories. Be careful to be respectful of the stories. I wouldn’t take the serious ones into consideration…that could open a whole different can of worms. Instead take the smaller, playful stories and find a winner there.
As I said above, it sells itself! The section on the website where you take applicants can be sponsored. The on-air feature can be sponsored. Anytime you mention it on-air can be sponsored. Then the giveaway itself can be sponsored. You can get more than one company involved. You don’t have to just giveaway the hot tub. Include swimwear, tiki torches, towels, anything you use in the hot tub can be given away.
This can be a really fun promotion! As always, these are jumping off points. Get creative!
